Consultation

On you first visit to our office you will be welcomed as a member of our family and our receptionist will greet you with a warm smile. You will then be asked to fill out our required forms which will help us gain some valuable information about yourself and your health condition.

Dr. Broskoskie will then talk to you about your specific problems and answer any concerns you may have to determine if chiropractic care may be of benefit to you. If the doctor cannot help you, you will be referred to a doctor that will most likely be able to assist you. Nothing will be done in our office without your consent.

topExamination

After a thourough consultation with the doctor, you will have a complete chiropractic examination. This will include testing you spinal range of motion, standard orthopaedic / neurological / physical examinations. This allows the doctor to gain valuable insight regarding your condition so he will have a better understanding of how chiropractic care may help you. If necessary, the doctor will take static x-rays and motion x-rays to view the dynamic motion of the spine.

topX-ray

Static x-rays are generally indicated to rule out a fracture or a pathology. They are also very useful in visualizing the structure of the spine and supporting tissue. Motion x-rays are invaluable in viewing the realtime movement of the patient's spine. Many problems that cannot be demonstrated on a static x-ray are obvious when a patient moves their spine while being filmed.

topFactors in X-ray:

  • Patient exposure with both types of x-rays is kept to a minimum by using a high-frequency x-ray unit, very fast and more sensitive film.
  • The patient's exposure is further reduced by the use of intensifying screens, filtration, and collimnation.
  • The need for any x-ray is determined on a case by case basis.
  • High-tech timing devices make exposures in 1/100ths of a second for ultra fast films.
  • Doctors of chiropractic receive over 200 hours of training and must not only pass national boards but also state boards to be allowed to perform X-rays. In addition, Dr. Broskoskie is one of only a handful of chiropractors in the country that has achieved post-graduate certification in Cineradiography or the motion x-ray.

X-rays reveal pathologies and degeneration, show a history of spinal stresses, and make adjustments much more precise.

topReport of Findings

Once all the information and exainations have been performed, the doctor will give you a report of findings in which he will let you know his recommendations for treatment.

Treatment

Most of our patients begin to see results from the very first adjustment. We use an innovative adjusting instrument at the office called a FRAS( Force Recording Analysis System). It is manufactured by a company in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania called SenseTechnology. www.pulstarfras.com This machine uses a light impulse applied to each of the spinal segments to measure how much each bone moves. This information is displayed on a computer monitor in the form of a bar graph. This instrument was FDA approved in 1994 and has seen many upgrades in software since it's inception.

topInsurance

Our office participates in many insurance programs. We also accept auto accident liens and workers compensation cases. To find out if your insurance covers chiropractic care, you can call the office at 570.450.5500 or fill out the insurance form.

For patients who have little or no chiropractic insurance coverage, flexible payment programs can be arranged.
